A note on etiquette

When your brother goes on a rampage, shoots an eight year old girl in the face, kills nine people including his ex-wife and burns her brother's house down, then kills himself? Sending the victimized family an email expressing your sympathy? No. Absolutely not.

Why? Because it's an email?

I think it's absolutely appropriate to tell them how sorry you are...why is expressing sympathy ever a bad thing?

because it's an email

I dunno, call me old-fashioned, but sending someone an email? not.
