Absolute Beginners

I'm looking for a cyberpunk novel and I could have my parent's old bookshelves completely out of whack in my memory, but I think the cover was yellow and black, if that helps... Something about an asian detective, whose twin was bitten to death by snakes? and I want to say the title is something like 8 Ball but again, I could be confusing it with something else on those shelves.... and not to give away the plot or anything but it involves a sex change operation.
