low key weekend

ugh. assaulted by happy families of two and three kids everywhere in our ramblings and parambulations today, and while I wish them joy it was a knife in my heart for some reason on this particular spin around the planet. I'm practicing the serenity prayer today, I DO NOT WANT WHAT I HAVE NOT GOT only it's not a very serene prayer, it's a desperate gasping thing more suited to despair than zen oneness with my lot in the world. Ungrateful little thing, me, and I'll come back in all humility in a day or two. Doesn't help to have Wicked Little Town from Hedwig and the Angry Inch stuck in my head since Thursday night. It's been scratching at the back of my eyes, tears that want in.

I hadn't seen this movie except for a few snippets. I looked it up on YouTube, and today went out and bought the movie and soundtrack. Bitch. Love you. lol.

I also spent hours trying to figure out where I'd seen Yitzhak before, not realizing that he was played by a woman. I swear there's a 1990s rocker out there that looks just like the character. Am I insane?

I can't get Wicked Little Town out of my head. I've given up. I'm singing it around the office in the hopes that I can pass on enough earworms that my particular infection will leave me. geez.

look Yitzak on the Hedwig listing on IMDB, she's done some work on TV which might be where she's familiar. her character might be reminding you of someone from Guns n Roses or something LOL

I kept thinking Dave Navarro, but she doesn't look anything like him. Or Soundgarden. It's some obvious derivation from some 1985-93 rockers. I will find this out I swear!

I watched it in full last night, and was so moved. I even watched the 1.5 hour behind the scenes movie. I love stuff like that.

Thanks for reminding me that I needed to see this. I love anything and everything drag. And Michael Pitt's lips. I have such a faghag crush on JCM. The idea of three sexes was beautiful. And I've read everything about gnosticism at this point.

Midnight Radio is such an amazing song and that's what my head was singing to me. The tune for Wicked Little Town is so memorable, and I don't know the words yet!
